Elmer Burr and Ken Stumpf Scholarship of Honor
Elmer Burr and Ken Stumpf have a lot in common. Burr, from the Class of 1926, and Stumpf, from the Class of 1962, graduated from Menasha High School. Both went above and beyond the call of duty for their country and received the Medal of Honor. Burr died in the course of saving other lives. Burr received the Medal of Honor posthumously from Franklin D. Roosevelt on October 11, 1943.
Ken Stumpf also saved lives, and thankfully is with us today. He served in the United States Army for 29 years, retiring with the rank of Sergeant Major. Stumpf recieved the Medal of Honor on September 19, 1968 from Lyndon Johnson.

The 2008 Ken Stumpf and Elmer Burr Scholarship of Honor was awarded to William Voight. William enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard.
The 2007 Ken Stumpf and Elmer Burr Scholarship of Honor was awarded to Jonathon Krautkramer. Jonathon enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.
The 2006 Ken Stumpf and Elmer Burr Scholarship of Honor was awarded to Eric Voight. Eric enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Sponsor, Karen Smith presents Eric with the Scholarship of Honor Medal.
The 2nd annual scholarship was awarded to Ashley Gulley. Ashley enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. She is pictured here with Medal of Honor Recipient, Ken Stumpf.
