Brian's story has always drawn lots of attention, but this year "the journey" became the focus of more media coverage than ever before. Whether it was before, during or after, reporters and camera crews were there to capture the Foundation's events. This year, the Foundation received coverage in both Green Bay newspapers, on all four local television stations as well as on WITI-TV, the Fox affiliate in Milwaukee.
Still, the most surprising mention came during ESPN's coverage of a game between the Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Just prior to kickoff, a Sunday night audience heard quarterback Brett Favre say about his season "the journey is the reward--I truly believe that." Favre is a long-standing supporter of the Foundation and obviously has taken Brian's phrase to heart.
