Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has led his team to many a huge victory, and on March 4th, the three-time league MVP delivered yet again. Favre teamed-up with The Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation to raise more than $15,000 in one evening.

Several hundred attended the gala benefit, held on the opening night of Brett Favre's Steakhouse in Green Bay. Attendees were treated to live entertainment, plenty of spicy Cajun cooking, as well as a silent auction. Among the items up for grabs-- a round of golf with Brett himself.

Musician David Seering helped set the tone, and was later joined by Favre on-stage for an impromptu jam session. The pro bowl quarterback seemed just as comfortable behind a set of drums as he does behind his offensive line, but that wasn't Favre's only surprise. He also stunned the crowd with the first news that he and his wife were expecting their second child, Breleigh.

Favre's involvement has meant valuable exposure for the Foundation. "Brett has really taken Brian's story to heart," said Doug LaViolette, Brian's father. "He has given so much of himself, whether it's appearing at an event like this or signing autographs for us to auction. We're really grateful for what he's done."

The event was more than a good time for everyone involved, it's also a big reason the Foundation has been able to expand its scholarship program in the coming year.
