Neil Buethe

As the Chief Communications Officer for U.S .Soccer, Neil Buethe serves as the primary spokesman for the Federation and oversees the communications and media strategy for the Men’s, Women’s and Youth National Teams, the Development Academy, and Coaching and Referee Departments.  

In addition, Buethe manages U.S. Soccer’s content creation and distribution direction across the entire organization, including oversight of the video department, social media platforms and ussoccer.com.

Prior to his current role, Buethe served as U.S. Soccer’s Youth Press Officer handling the Under-17 and Under-20 Men’s National Teams from 2003-2006, before transitioning into a newly created Content Manager position. In that role, Buethe oversaw the development and production of original content across multiple platforms.

Born May 15, 1977, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Buethe is a 1999 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
